A series by B.M. Chandler
An Iris Stellick Thriller
The killer can see her.
Iris Stellick works nights for the coroner in Tallow, a river city that floods every spring and freezes every January. She photographs the dead, measures the rooms they died in, and writes down what everyone else steps over.
She also has the thing her mother had. When someone is murdered, Iris can stand where it happened, say the victim's full name, and walk back through the time before the death, once, before the third dawn erases it. She can't change anything or save anyone. And wherever the killer is, he's pulled back into that room too, looking straight at her.
The walk never proves anything. Every case still has to be built from evidence a jury could hold. Each book opens and closes one case. The romance is a slow burn, and the door stays closed.
Book 1: Before Marisol Kade Died.
